I haven’t been updating this, but the project is absolutely still live. I’ve also decided to post some thoughts periodically in the form of travel-related articles on the Somewhere in Japan Substack, which I’ll also be updating today.
I want to be honest about the project, though. It’s absolutely still on, and I am still compiling notes and writing text. It’s been hard, though. The last few months have seen a sharp worsening of my depression. These things tend to be cyclical, however, and I’m coming out of it bit by bit. It’s hard, though.
If you’re seeing this, know that I appreciate your being here. And if you want to do a little something to help bring this project to completion, there are two things that make a big difference.
- If you haven’t already, please consider participating in the presale of the book and audiobook. Every little bit helps, and you can support it with as little as USD $5. You can do that here.
- Help me get this project in front of more people. Getting the support I need to be able to afford to finish this project is a numbers game. The more people you can share this with, the better. Please direct as many people as you can to davidwroteabook.com
More updates soon, and thank you for reading. Your support makes all the difference.
Hi David, thanks for the update! I was wondering if your Substack also has an RSS feed (or if you can enable that) – makes it easier to keep up to date. And I hope you feel better soon, I know that depression can feel horrible. It _will_ get better.
Thanks for the comment and encouragement! I appreciate it.
I looked into it, and the RSS feed should be at somewhereinjp.substack.com/feed
I plugged it into Feedly and it looks like it should work
